Giving of your time and energy is the most precious thing you can give. For most people today the giving of money takes low effort, thus that is not as meaningful as giving of yourself. Giving is the glue that holds society together. The purpose of society is to share the good and bad, and this can only happen through giving of ones time and energy to others. Sharing is good Karma because it makes the society stronger and will return to you when you need it, but it must be given without the expectation it will be returned.
