Work and Rest are also a synergism, thus of equal importance. Life, in a physical world, cannot be without both. We cannot have a material life without some work to maintain it, but if all life is work, where is the joy and purpose of life. In other words the word rest implies that one has done work, and the word work implies that one has a need for rest from work.
Life is better if all work is done with joy. When we see work as drudgery it is because we either don’t see the importance of it, or are poorly matched to the task. Even then if one works to find joy and one can, which makes any task much easier.
