Of course in a real computer there are lots of very complicated circuits and the keys turn on transistors, not light bulbs. But the point is that no matter how many millions or trillions of transistors and circuits, it is just a machine. It can never magically at some point in its complexity become conscious and be the observer.

There is another difference between a computer and the brain. The computer looks at it’s patterns one pattern at a time, but the brain looks at lots of patterns at the same time. It is called a neuronet because it look like a net. There are other differences also, but they can’t create the Observer.

No one has found a way in which the brain could create the Observer.

Another common way to try and explain the observer is to say the brain is made of two different logic circuits. One that controls the body and a second circuit that analyzes what the first circuit is doing. In other words one set of
circuits is reflecting what the other set of circuits is doing????? Next
